Moms surprised with gift hampers for new born babies
Cash Connect, Paying it Forward with its 10th Anniversary Celebrations
Thirty moms at the OR Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg were surprised and blessed with gift hampers for their new born babies – this social upliftment outreach is part of a Paying it Forward campaign by Cash Connect Management Solutions, South Africa’s leader in providing cash management solutions to the retail sector.
As part of Cash Connect’s 10th Anniversary celebrations, each business department has chosen a charity organisation who they would like to support.
“What better way to celebrate Cash Connect’s 10th birthday than by doing good deeds for those in need. In the hustle and bustle of everyday business life, filled with objectives and deadlines, too few companies take the time to reflect on the grim reality in which we exist. We at Cash Connect are thrilled at having initiated this campaign and hope that 2016 will be a blessed year for our chosen charities,” says Sumay Herbst, marketing manager, Cash Connect.
New mothers receive baby hampers...
Recently, Cash Connect’s Finance team embarked on its first charity social upliftment outreach in Gauteng. First the team paid a visit to the Grace Factory in Fourways, where they packed the hampers and then proceeded to the OR Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg where they handed the hampers to the mothers to assist them with taking care of their newborns in the first few days after birth. Each hamper included nappies, a blanket, baby clothing, a baby toy, and wet wipes, to name but a few...
For the Cash Connect team the day was a heartfelt experience.
“It truly felt good to make a difference and to touch other people’s lives, this is the true spirit of Paying it Forward,” says Herbst.
“At Cash Connect we take an interest in wider social issues and want to make a real difference in the lives of others in our community. It is important that we, as employees, donate our time and love, and not just making a monetary donation. We believe that our social upliftment endeavors will have a life-changing consequence for the recipients, as well as boost the morale of our employees.”
The Grace Factory is a non-profit organisation (NPO 123-700) that aims to support children’s homes by providing them with basic necessities. It started as a NPO in February 2013 and has dropped off necessities to over 80 children’s homes in and around Gauteng. It has many drop-off points in Gauteng and collects from these whenever the bins provided have been filled. The Grace Factory also donates to children’s homes, usually once a week.
